So when I could only find print on demand caps I decided to try and use ink jet transfers to see if I could do it myself using a bucket hat. The results aren't perfect but good enough and get the message across how to donate.  Also it worked out a lot cheaper which can't be bad!

I have another couple to do as this hat turned out to be enormous. Fingers crossed they turn out ok too.
I have a handful of ribbon sashes on order which will be available on the day for a few walkers to wear if they wish. This is an easy way of displaying the donation information, particularly how to text donate.

I'm using a stash of my exisiting art postcards and adding a little blurb on the back to tell people about what we're doing and why.  Those walking with me can give these out to folks before the event and maybe even on the day.  It just tells people we're doing a 10k wheelchair push, how to make a donation and who ME Research are.

I'm also making a couple of hats with the donation info on. I usually need to wear a hat when I'm out as the sky can be a bit too bright for my head to handle so I may as well make use of the space to promote our event.

I have sponsorship forms printed and on digital file for any walkers taking part who want to try and raise some money - after all they're the ones doing the hard work!

Next is to get a couple of photos taken and prepare an article for the local press. Eeeek! Publicity is good f

So far we have 9 adults and children signed up to take part in the 10k wheelchair walk doing varying distances, plus myself and my husband. All are friends and family.

If you'd like to join us you can sign up on the Join In page or contact me.

You can walk anything from 1km (just under 3/4 mile), 5km (3.1 miles) or 10k (6.2 miles). And maybe even take a turn pushing my wheelchair to help me around the course.

The event takes place on the afternoon oSunday 11th September 2011
The site is live, the fundraising page ready for donations and the route map published.

If you'd like to come walk part or all of the 10k route around Lichfield with me please get in touch. I'll also be drawing up a rota for people to push my wheelchair so if you're willing to do some pushing just shout.

I've set an ambitious fundraising target of £1,000 but I hope if all goes well I may be able to do more Push It events in my trusty wheelchair in the future.
